Born in Jamaica to working class parents, Yolande migrated to the United States at the age of seven.Leaving behind, her beautiful island home, Yolande vowed one day to return, having left behind many cousins and relatives. After graduating from college, Yolande started working with Pfizer Inc, thelargest pharmaceutical company in the world, in their sales division. This afforded her the opportunity to travel around the world and she has not looked back since.
Recognizing the benefits and blessings of living in the U.S., Yolande wants to make a difference in the lives of others, particularly disadvantaged children around the world. From the favelas of Sao Paulo, the ravines of Haiti, the squatter areas of Laguna, Philippines and many other exotic locations, Yolande has seen first hand the devastation of poverty and limited resources on young children. As she continues to travel, Yolande's goal is to write about her travels in order to educate those at home about social injustices as well as uplift those in the areas she visits. Simply, she states: " I write. I travel. I live to make a difference. Take the journey with me...."
